We all know physicality is important but so often it’s just something we add at the end.
We love watching embodied performances but don’t necessarily know how to do it ourselves.
And we’ve all been told, at least once, to ‘get out of your head’.
In this eight-class programme we’ll be looking at some tried and tested techniques to get you back in your body, and to encourage movement to be at the centre of your practice.
Based in the Jacques Lecoq pedagogy, expect a practical, playful, on-your-feet class with helpful warm ups, exploratory exercises and time to reflect together.
Each week we’ll look at a new topic: Tensions, Elements, Space and Animals. In our first class we’ll spend time exploring and playing, and in our second class we’ll look at how we can connect this to self-tapes, auditions and roles.
Suitable for anyone who wants to get out of their head and feel more connected to their body, who wants to put the fun back in acting, or who wants an opportunity to explore what their body can do.
