MT for TV - Double Masterclass with Mark Rowley and Adam Gillian

Merging over into the world of TV and Film can be tricky. So many Musical Theatre actors think the transition is an easy one and it’s not. There is skill and technique that has to be applied and the camera training on any Musical Theatre degree or diploma programme just isn't enough.

A lot of casting directors will not see Musical Theatre actors because they over act on tape - it's that harsh. So if you do get a life changing self tape that will break you into the world of TV and Film don’t screw it up!

It’s our aim to bring on some known TV and Film actors to guide you through the process and give you the tools to nail your next self tape audition. In this free double masterclass we can give you the basics… but consistency and practice is key! You might be going up for a part against other actors with lists of TV credits… so the odds are already against you! If you want to have a serious go at it then join the class and learn what to do and most importantly, what not to do.

The first class will be led by Adam who has worked in both Musical Theatre and TV. It will look at acting through song with attendees, looking at the choices you would make for a live theatre environment. Mark will also give feedback and direction.

The second class, led by Mark, is the very next day and will look at self-tapes that have been sent in by the attendees taking part in the previous class ahead of time; paying particular attention to choices made and how to effectively re-frame a performance for a self-tape audition. Adam will also give feedback and direction. These sessions are back to back to reflect the reality of a typical audition week - a Wicked or Les Mis audition in a morning and then having a screen audition tape or meeting in the afternoon, it can be that quick a turnaround.
