Free online masterclasses and Q&A's with industry professionals! 

In The Room – Live is a platform where industry professionals will host FREE workshops and Q&A's. Although the events are free, we do ask that you give a small donation to the guest's chosen charity that they are raising funds for.

Events will be held over Zoom – a meeting link will be emailed to you, no less than 30 minutes before it begins. Please join onto the event 5-15 minutes early, as latecomers may not be admitted. Please make sure your internet connection is strong - if you lose connection and are disconnected from the event we can't guarantee re-entry.

This is a session and Q+A on how to start producing your own work as an actor. James Northcote and Elisabeth Hopper lead a session on how to approach producing and the benefits and challenges of making your own work and finding your team.

About James:

James is an actor and producer. He has worked with internationally acclaimed directors Lars Von Trier, Amma Asante, Andrea Arnold and Joe Wright, as well as extensively in television and theatre in the UK. He was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Ensemble Award and won the Newport Beach Film Festival Ensemble Award for ‘The Imitation Game’ with Benedict Cumberbatch. He is currently working on The Last Kingdom (Netflix), recently completed Catherine the Great with Helen Mirren (HBO) and stars in upcoming comedy The Break with Philip Jackson and Alison Steadman (BBC radio). His first film as a producer ‘Morning is Broken’ was nominated for the Iris Prize and was part of BFI Flare’s first Five Films for Freedom. It screened in 90 countries internationally and secured numerous distribution deals. His production company Visual Goods creates genre films with socially conscious stories. As a teacher James has run workshops focussing particularly on film acting. His experience on set as an actor and a producer has given him a unique perspective on how an actor can use there knowledge of the filmmaking process to improve their craft. 

About Elisabath: 

Elisabeth is an actor, writer and producer. She began her professional career in Trevor Nunn’s season at Chichester and The Theatre Royal Haymarket, playing ‘Miranda’ opposite Ralph Fiennes in ‘The Tempest’. Since then she has worked extensively in TV - Dr Who (BBC), Home Fires 1&2 (ITV), Sky (Agatha Raisin, The Smoke) Channel 4, (Drifters) Netflix (Cuckoo) film and theatre. Most recently creating a new version of The Indian Queen for Opera Lille in collaboration with Guy Cassiers of Toneelhuis Antwerp. In 2018 she co-founded The Female Film Force initiative - a £100K fund which offers £20,000.00 grants to female filmmaking teams across the UK, France, Germany and Ireland. As a producer and EP her films have screened at over 50 festivals worldwide and won numerous awards. She was one of the first women to have a film selected for BFI Flare’s Five Films for Freedom (supported by the UN), she was nominated for the Iris Prize and her work screened in 90 countries, securing numerous distribution deals.

We're excited to welcome back the incredible Vicki Manser (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, SIX, Bat Out of Hell, Sunny Afternoon) only this time for a Masterclass!

Hosted by AC coach Adam Gillian, we'll be taking 3 attendees through an Acting Through Song class with feedback and re-direction. We'll then finish up with a short Q+A with Vicki so make sure to have those burning questions at the ready.


If you're an aspiring actor hoping to train and enter the Musical Theatre world or an established actor wanting to brush up on your acting through song skills, this is not to be missed!
